Hi I’m Lexy Silverstein a recovering fash-fashion shopaholic. I started my fashion blog when I was 13 years old and obsessed with the following trends: Justice in elementary school, Forever 21 in middle school and Urban Outfitters in high school. Oy! I look back with horror about all the harm I did to the environment by supporting fast fashion brands. Since then I’ve learned about the harmful effects of the fashion industry and I’ve been on a journey to make sustainable choices and prove that fashion can be good for the environment, sustainable and fashionable. If you want to learn more about me check out this blog.
Many times, I think I’m doing all the right things to be a more responsible eco-friendly shopper and then I learn something new that makes me realize I’ve got more to learn. For instance here’s the top eco offenders according to ReMake.
That would include the “former me”. You’ll rarely see influencers in the same clothing EVER. That’s a problem. According to a survey back in 2017 by Hubbub (in Vox) 41% of 18-15 year olds felt pressured to wear a different outfit every time they went out.
On my Instagram (@LexySilverstein), you’ll see when I post my outfits of the week, my goal is that 40%-50% of my fits are usually thrifted or bought on Depop or borrowed but like I said… IT’S. A. JOURNEY.
